Carlino: Opening of a new restaurant in Shangri-La Vancouver revealed

Earlier this month, we announced that Miantiao, the newly opened restaurant inside the Shangri-La Hotel Vancouver, has announced its upcoming closure.

The Italian-Chinese restaurant has confirmed that it will offer its last service before closing on Monday, November 29, after six months of operation.

Miantiao’s operating group Kitchen Table Restaurants has announced that a new restaurant is already in the works for the space, and now we know what’s coming.

The new full-service Italian concept that takes over the third-floor restaurant in the city center has been unveiled: Carlino.

Named after the grandfather of a Kitchen Table partner, Carlino promises classic Friulian dishes and bites from the neighboring regions of Trentino and Veneto.

The Carlino’s culinary program will be led by award-winning chef Mark Perrier, who has created a menu that pays homage to British Columbia and northern Italy.

“We offer guests a new approach to northern Italian cuisine,” says Chef Perrier.

“A culinary adventure featuring lesser-known dishes as well as familiar dishes.”

Customers can enjoy à la carte options or opt for the fai tu chef’s family-style tasting experience, which costs $ 85 per person.

For sips, expect an excellent selection of cocktails from bar manager Gianluigi Bosco and a top-notch wine program from wine manager David Steele.

Aiming to embody the quintessential Friulian lifestyle, Carlino will open its doors on Wednesday, December 1.

This place will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
