Covington restaurant cooks food for Bengals ahead of first pre-Super Bowl practice

COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) – A northern Kentucky restaurant prepared food for the Bengals’ first practice before heading to Los Angeles for the Super Bowl.

Libby’s Southern Comfort, located in Covington, Kentucky, prepared a special spread for the team including fried chicken, deviled eggs and their famous Charlie Brown sandwich.

According to Libby’s owner Brad Wainscott, police and fire personnel will escort them to Paul Brown Stadium around 11:45 a.m. Saturday to deliver the food.

Wainscott says the restaurant has built a relationship with the team this season.

” It was great. Our whole family got involved in it,” Wainscott said. “I’ve always been a Bengals fan, but just being able to nurture the Bengals and not just help our business in this time is awesome.”

He adds that the company has fed the team seven times this season.

“We’ve been six-and-one to feed the Bengals with a loss, so we’re pretty confident we have a good record with them,” Wainscott said.

Libby’s Southern Comfort hopes the team will win against the LA Rams on Feb. 13.

The Bengals attended practice on Saturday and are expected to leave for SoFi Stadium on Tuesday.
