Taste of Greektown 2021: Chicago’s biggest celebration of Hellenic cuisine, culture returns

CHICAGO (WLS) – Taste of Greektown is the largest celebration of Hellenic cuisine and culture in Chicago.

It returns at the end of the month, with restaurants, bars and a gyro-eating contest.

Live music and entertainment at the 31st Taste of Greektown features Hellas 2000 on the main festival stage, playing traditional and new Greek music daily from 4pm to 10pm. Local DJs and bands will perform on the second stage of the festival throughout the weekend. The fourth annual Gyro Eating contest sponsored by Devanco Foods will take the second stage on Saturday evening, August 28 at 6 p.m. Interested participants can register for the festival on site this Saturday at 4 p.m. at a table next to the second stage. .

Some of the acclaimed Greek restaurants featured at the event include 9 Muses Bar & Grill; Spectrum Bar & Grill, Restaurant Athena; and Artopolis Boulangerie, Café and Agora. The event runs from Friday August 27 to Sunday August 29 along Halsted Street from Adams Streets to Van Buren Streets.

Hours: Friday August 27 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday August 28 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday August 29 from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m.
